Exquisite and truly rare vintage early 1950’s princess coat by Hattie Carnegie. This cinch waisted coat was one of Carnegie’s signature styles in the early 50’s. This particular coat was sold by the Tat Saunders boutique, located in Boston’s Ritz Carlton hotel. The 4 Saunders boutiques specialized in custom couture and high end designer fashions for their exclusive clientele. This coat is a true collector’s piece!
This coat is fashioned from navy blue silk Alaskine that has a stiff and shiny finish to it. The coat features a rounded collar, the shape of which is repeated in the large pocket flaps. Those flaps lift to reveal a welted slit pocket underneath. The sleeves have fold-back cuffs. The coat closes at the front with plain navy buttons and bound buttonholes. It is completely lined in navy silk taffeta. Original price – $500.00. All sale items are final sale with no returns accepted.
